In 2019, a towering building was standing among the
core area of Beijing’s East Third Ring CBD. It can be seen
across the metropolis. When you look at the building, the
building looks at you as well. The building is the CITIC
Tower, which is commonly known as “Chinese Zun (中国
尊 in Chinese characters)”. It is 528 meters high with 108
floors above the ground and 8 floors below the ground, at
the eighth place among the tallest buildings in the world. It
was completed in 2019. Then it welcomed the CITIC Group
as its first tenant who moved in, followed by the CITIC Bank
and the Alibaba Group. Since then, the “Chinese Zun”
has become the tallest building and a new landmark in
Beijing.
